Spring Break

Patty and I have two children in public school. Spring break means our kids get the week off -- and a chance to recharge their batteries.
Looking forward, a tough budget season means the Council will have to make difficult decisions about the programs we fund which support our children and families.
Programs like:
- The SUN School programs operated by Parks at eleven public schools throughout Portland, serving over 5,500 children.
- The Parks Teen program which had over 91,000 visits last year.
- The free movies and concerts in our parks.
- The Youth Conservation Corps, which provides young people with work experience and training in environmental stewardship.
I will oppose any efforts to balance our budget on the back of our families and children. But I need your help. Your voice matters.
